IFFCMH Executive Director Position Posting



TIME/HOURS:      1.0 FTE (Full Time Equivalent)

SUPERVISOR:     Board of Directors



  • Provides leadership, supervision and direction for the planning, operations and programs of the Idaho Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health (IFFCMH)
  • Evaluates project implementation, effectiveness and impact
  • Supervises and evaluates the IFFCMH staff
  • Prepares, submits and manages grants, budgets, special reports, and fiscal resources as necessary
  • Represents the IFFCMH on boards/committees
  • Collaborates with other agencies and organizations serving families with children and youth with emotional, behavioral, and/or mental health disorders, including serious emotional disturbances



  • Requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent in social services, business management, finance, accounting, public administration or a related field, additional education or experience in children’s mental health, special education, juvenile corrections, budgeting and grant management also required
  • Must possess a basic understanding of mental health services for children and have knowledge about systems of care.  Family member of child(ren) with emotional, behavioral, mental health challenges preferred
  • Responsible for researching, developing, submitting and management of all grants
  • Identify funding opportunities, coordinate and promote fund-raising for the IFFCMH
  • Requires management and supervisory skills along with good public relations skills
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Responsible for implementation and management of Board policies and procedures
  • Responsible for staff development, training and supervision
  • Collaborate with IDHW, IDJC, ISDE as well as community-based partners in the development of programs and events that promote awareness, education and advocacy regarding children’s mental health.
  • Must be familiar with state & federal laws, rules, and policies governing children’s mental health
  • Responsible for compliance with procurement policies, budgeting and financial reporting to the IFFCMH Board and the IDHW
  • Develops IFFCMH management goals and objectives and monitors outcomes
  • Collaborates with other agencies/organizations to promote and coordinate services
  • Must maintain confidential and adequate records
  • Demonstrate ability to work with parents, caregivers, adolescents, children
  • Demonstrate ability to develop strong community partnerships
  • Possess excellent computer skills, advanced competence in Microsoft® Office products and QuickBooks® for Non-Profits
  • Must be willing to travel within Idaho and to national conferences
